Why Mosaic..?

It's different to a portfolio which tradition dictates to be the top few images of a collection.

A mosaic - to me - is a collection that reveals the full story - whether on a wall in Pompeii, the Great Palace Mosaic in Istanbul, Parc Guell in Barcelona, or an unknown photographer's website on the internet.

This Mosaic is my photography story and whilst each image stands strongly on its own - I think there is a fourth dimension to the sum total of these images that I feel helps to give an overall presentation of my family travels and helps me to pay tribute to this style of art that I truly love.

This breathtaking long exposure captures the iconic Sycamore Gap in Northumberland, England, a site made famous by its appearance in the film "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves." The majestic tree, estimated to be over 150 years old, stood as a symbol of resilience until it was tragically vandalized in 2023, sparking national outrage. Despite this loss, efforts are underway to cultivate offshoots from the original tree, ensuring that the spirit of Sycamore Gap lives on. This image not only showcases the natural beauty of the landscape but also serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of preserving our natural heritage.
